John McArthur, President
John co-founded Walden Technology Partners, Inc., in March, 2007, with David Burmon, a long-time friend and business associate. John has been the driving force behind the Strategic Partnership practice at Walden, providing technology and market opportunity assessment services, business development services and go-to-market strategy for portfolio companies. Prior to co-founding Walden, John was Group Vice President and General Manager for Information Infrastructure and Enabling Technologies at IDC. He managed a worldwide team of analysts serving IT professionals, investors, resellers, distributors, and manufacturers. His team focused on the capture, storage, management and output of information, and covered technologies including digital cameras and scanners, storage components and solutions, printers and multi-function peripherals, semiconductors, flat-panel displays, embedded operating systems, nano-technology, and bio-chip technology. John also oversaw IDC’s small and medium business, hardware channels, pricing, and leasing services. While at IDC, he became an internationally recognized speaker on storage and storage management trends and was a featured speaker at end-user, trade-organization, and sales-training events. John serves as a trusted advisor to senior executives on issues such as executive team selection and partnership, acquisition, and market development strategies
John serves as a director on the boards of StorMagic and RELDATA and is an active supporter of numerous non-profit services, arts and religious organizations in the greater Boston community.
